Navigating the ups and downs of life can be overwhelming and challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. Therapy empowers you to use your strengths to cope with future transitions and find the rewarding parts of change through overcoming challenges. My goal in fostering a therapeutic space is to help individuals enhance their skills to live their life to their fullest potential. We will work together to reach goals that harness that full potential.
My areas of interest are perinatal therapy and enhancing maternal mental health which I do by working with expectant mothers, mothers trying to conceive, and mothers in the postpartum period. As well as men transitioning into parenthood. I also enjoy working with young adults and adults who may be struggling with difficult life transitions, anxiety, or depression.
I hold a master’s in social work from Salisbury University and completed my clinical internship at a Garnering Change Psychotherapy providing individual psychotherapy supervised by a certified perinatal mental health specialist. Prior to this, I received a bachelor’s of social work with a minor in psychology from University of Maryland – Baltimore County. As a new therapist, I am dedicated to continuously honing my therapeutic approach and integrating individualized care for all of my clients. I practice from a strengths-based approach and incorporate motivational interviewing (MI) as well as components of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I create a safe, relaxed environment where you can openly share your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment, even those that challenge societal norms.
I want to remind you that it is okay to not feel okay and I'm happy you're taking the first steps to move towards wellness. I hope we can work together soon!
I provide psychotherapy services under Supervisor Jill Purdy, LCSW-C.
