A year of growth!

Insight Wellness of Maryland is thrilled to announce

Jennifer Turner, LCSW-C, has joined the team!

Planning for this expansion has been a long time coming, I could not be happier about having Jennifer be the first to join the team! During this transition, Jennifer's presence really connected with the intention and goal Insight Wellness has for it's clients as well as it's clinicians. She will no doubt be a true partner in the creation of all that Insight will offer.

Jennifer fully embraces the definition of wellness, including completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training, in addition to being a clinical social worker. This additional training provides access to the mind + body connection in order to fully treat the whole person. Current studies from trauma specialists and researchers such, as Bessel van der Kolk, express the importance of processing trauma through the body, as "the body retains the imprint of trauma."

Jennifer attended Goucher College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. As a fellow Goucher grad, I know their expectations, level of intensity, development of critical thinking, and focus on personal reflection and growth. This focus creates such well rounded and balanced graduates who are ready to take on many challenges. Jennifer attended University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Social Work, with a concentration in Clinical Social Work. During her training at UMB she had various internships from working with Baltimore County Detention Center TAMAR Program to the Office of the Public Defender of Maryland, Juvenile Justice Center.

Upon graduation, Jennifer began work in the field of addictions, providing individual and group therapy for various outpatient addiction treatment centers in and around Baltimore. The intense training and work in an IOP setting helped advance and hone her clinical skills. It is apparent that Jennifer continues to find ways to grow and develop her abilities as a psychotherapist. This quality will no doubt help her flourish here at Insight Wellness of Maryland.
